I actually found Saddleback Automotive because they rent out rooftop tents, but while I was there I asked Adam if they could provide an estimate for some work I needed done on my 97 4Runner. I'm glad I did because man, did they deliver. I had recently replaced my steering rack and outer tie rods so I was due for an alignment. I also need to replace my CV axles because both of mine had torn boots so I wanted to get both things done at the same time. I had purchased all the parts to do this because initially I wanted to take care of it myself, but I usually use my friend's garage and didn't want to bother him anymore than I already had. A few other well reviewed shops wanted $500+ just in labor to install the CVs (that I was supplying!) so I was at a standstill. Enter Adam and Saddleback Automotive. They took care of the CV install for me for just 2 hours of labor, the alignment for a very reasonable price and a few oil leak repairs that I knew were there, but was holding off on addressing. All this was done within 2 days and at prices I was happy to pay. Communication was great throughout the process and my truck is running better than ever. I didn't have a go-to shop before, but I definitely do now. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Saddleback Auto to anyone. Smelled gas when operating our MR2 and it was time for an oil change. Made an appointment and waited for a call to discuss what was needed. Seals around fuel injectors were leaking and needed to be replaced. The vehicle is 35 years old, so I suggested perhaps the fuel injectors should be replaced as well. Adam explained the process and the potential costs. Adam gave me a rough estimate and I authorized a max budget to get all of the work done. If the budget was going to be exceeded, Adam said he would call and discuss any new issues. The work was done on time and under budget. As cars become more complex, we consumers are at greater disadvantages when discussing potential services and repairs.
